"Los Pollitos" New study in Ica

Yesterday we started a new Bible study in a small village in Ica called Los Pollitos (little chickens). One of the ladies (Ana) that comes to the evening Bible study lives here and she is building her new house. Right now she is living in a makeshift house made from bamboo sticks and woven mats. In the evening she has no lights because she can't afford the meter, the electric company wants more that a months wages ($275.00) to install the meter, because this is an undeveloped area. So for now she borrows electricity when the neighbors allow or have enough to share. The fact that she has no lights and lives in a bamboo hut right now means she can't come to the Bible study, so just like Christ did, we take the Word to her. Carlos (a young man from the study) and I went to read, pray and answer questions about the Word. Ana invited two of her friends, and we sat around discussing God's plan of salvation through Christ and how no one can get to heaven on their good works. God is good, pray that we can continue to minister in this small community and that eventually Ana's parents who are strong Jehovah's Witness' will be able to come to the study and hear the Word of God. Pray for their salvation. Also pray for the salvation of Juan and Loreen, the two neighbors that came to Ana's yesterday.

Praise the Lord, because Ana told me that she had prayed that God would provide for her to build the house and that He would allow her to use the house for His glory. She told me that us coming to her and sharing the Word in her house was an answer to prayer, even before the house of adobe is finished, God is allowing her to use her makeshift house for His glory, to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
